Who we are

e-Track designs and manufactures electronic key management systems that give organisations complete control and visibility over every key across their operation. Every system is built in Birmingham, backed by intelligent cloud software and supported by a UK based team from installation through to the lifetime of the product.

Our Story

“It all started with the Scottish Prison Service in 2018. A missing key in a prison is not just an inconvenience, it is a crisis, potentially resulting in a lockdown, a search across an entire facility and a governor under interrogation. They needed a replacement key management system and went out to tender. After speaking with existing customers, including the National Library of Scotland, they trusted me to deliver.

Back then, I was a middleman at Keytracker, fighting slow delivery times, failing quality controls from an overseas manufacturer and a main contractor who entered liquidation with a six-figure unpaid balance. I delivered the project anyway. The Scottish Prison Service had trusted me, and that was not something I was willing to give up on.

It was through that experience that e-Track was born. I had lived through the pain and felt the fear alongside my customers for years. I recognised there could never be a genuine win for them until I built something that could deliver on my promises time and time again.

e-Track was not built in a boardroom. It was built on the belief that every customer has their own challenges which need understanding and handling with due care. No off-the-shelf system will ever fully deliver, so I built one that does, with a team of specialists who see every challenge through the same lens. Since 2019, we have laid the underlying infrastructure of a specialist Key Management operation that delivers, day in, day out, without fail.

2026

We are widening our product range beyond the cabinet. The e-Drop, which automates key handovers 24 hours a day, Checkpoints to track assets through every stage of a workflow, Drawers, lockers and new asset management solutions are all on the way.

2025

We launched our most intelligent web software yet, bringing machine learning, predictive insights and automated notifications into a single platform built to evolve with your operation.

2024

1,000 systems were deployed across the UK, USA, Europe and Australia, marking a decade of growth built entirely on product quality and customer trust.

2023

The first UK manufactured, insurance approved, high secure key management system came to market, Allianz approved and built to a standard no competitor could match.

2022

BSI and UKAS audited e-Track’s process management, formally certifying what the team had always known, that quality is the foundation, not an afterthought.

2021

Multiple patents granted and registered, protecting the innovations that make e-Track the most technically advanced key management manufacturer in the UK market.

2020

The team deployed the first 100 electronic key cabinets, focused entirely on getting the product right before scaling it.

2019

We launched the world’s first calibrated electronic key cabinet, setting a standard the industry had not seen before.

2016

Development began for the electronic key cabinet, designed from day one to exceed what the market was offering.

Quality You Can Trust

What makes an e-Track cabinet worth trusting is not just where it is built but how seriously the people building it take their work. The production team in Birmingham has spent years developing a depth of understanding that only comes from doing the same thing to a high standard over and over again and refusing to lower that standard when it would have been easier to do so.

Every weld, every panel and every component goes through a process built on real manufacturing expertise because the tolerances matter, the finish matters and the way a door closes and locks and holds under pressure matters in a way that the people on the floor understand better than anyone. Over £4 million invested in research and development between 2020 and 2025, seven patents held, BSI ISO 9001 certification and Allianz insurance approval, each one a formal recognition of a standard that was already being lived internally long before any certificate arrived on the wall.

The People Behind the Scenes

What makes us different is not just the product itself but the people across every part of the business who care genuinely about the problems they are solving. The production team builds to a standard most customers will never fully see but will always feel. The engineering team is constantly questioning what the next version needs to do that the current one does not. The aftersales team treats every customer issue as something worth solving properly rather than closing quickly. The sales team does not lead with the product because understanding the problem always has to come before offering the solution.

Across every one of these teams there is a shared understanding that the people buying this system are often the ones who will be held accountable if something goes wrong. That awareness shapes how every conversation is handled and how every customer relationship is maintained long after the installation is complete. At e-Track the product is what people buy but the people are why they stay.
